Commissioned Straw Marquetry Wall Art — From Diptych to Triptych

This commission began as a diptych of straw marquetry wall art, with colors carefully chosen to harmonize with my client’s interior. The design itself was left entirely to me, a rare and humbling gift of trust. When I asked her what she envisioned, her answer was the best I could hope for: “I love what you do… so just do what you do and I will love it.”

Working under such carte blanche freedom allowed me to create two luminous pieces that fully reflected my own artistic voice. After receiving them, my client  asked for a third, and so the diptych became a triptych.

What makes this story even more meaningful is that my client, who lives in the USA, placed her trust in me based only on what she had seen online. To me, this is the greatest compliment: the confidence to let me transform straw into shimmering artworks that bring light and texture into a home, even across an ocean.
