One Time Wood Veneering Workshop
What Is Wood Veneering ?
Wood veneering is an age-old woodworking technique that involves applying thin layers of wood, known as veneers, to a surface to create intricate patterns or decorative effects. Popularized in 18th-century Europe, veneering allowed artisans to achieve stunning designs while conserving valuable wood. The craft combines precision, creativity, and technical skill, making it a rewarding and versatile woodworking art.
What Will You Do During the Workshop?
Objective of the workshop
First and foremost, the goal is to enjoy a creative and engaging experience. You will learn the fundamentals of traditional wood veneering, including cutting, matching, and applying veneer to create elegant bookmarks.
By the end of the session, you will create two bookmarks featuring classic veneering patterns (book match, diamond box, and reverse diamond box). If time permits, you design and craft a third bookmark with a unique pattern of your own.

Two handcrafted bookmarks showcasing traditional veneering patterns.

This workshop is open to all. No prior experience is required
When, Where, How Much...
Where:The workshop takes place in Affula illit, Center North of Israel, not too far from Golda Meir's Kibbutz.
How long: It is about 3 to 4 hours long depending on the pace of participants
Size of group: 2 to 6 partipants
Cost: The cost is of 350 nis for the general public material included (for the general public, discounts do apply for soldiers and family members accompanying them)
